Biography
Nancy Jones was born in Scarborough Ontario. Her parents were both visual artists and encouraged Nancy to explore artistic expression at a very early age.
Nancy and her husband raised their family of three boys in King City, Ontario. At the time, King Township was a very rural place providing wonderful opportunities for painting on location in the beautiful Oak Ridges Moraine. Nancy is a qualified Special Education and Visual Art teacher. She believes students engaged in creative activities experienced more success in academic subjects. Nancy and her family spent many years traveling across Canada. These trips provided outstanding landscape references for her paintings. Closer to home Nancy made yearly canoe trips into the interior of Killarney Provincial Park, Algonquin Park and the islands of Georgian Bay. Lake Superior Provincial Park became her “spiritual” home as an artist. Nancy moved to Edgar, Ontario in Oro-Medonte a number of years ago. With a studio in her new home she continues to explore the world of painting. Her expressionistic style, delivers dynamic contemporary landscapes.
